Fly fishing is a ancient and distinct angling method, most well-known as a way of catching salmon and trout, but employed nowadays for a wide range of species like bass, pike, and carp, and even marine species, including redfish, tarpon, snook, striped bass and bonefish. There are many fly fisherman taking rather unintended species like chub, rudd and bream while the 'main target' for fishermen are types such as trout. Especially in Alberta but also in other regions is an increasing population of anglers or fishermen whose intend is to take as many different kinds of fish as possible using the fly. During fly fishing, fish are always caught by using flies that should be cast with some fly line and a fly rod. The fly line (almost always covered with plastic) is so heavy that it can send the bait to the target. The artificial flies contrast dramatically in weight and size, depending upon the application. Also, it is significant that the fly be corresponding with the appropriate line, reel and rod. In general, heavier, larger flies need heavier weight rods, larger reels, and heavier lines.
